The year is 2275. Earth has more or less successfully colonized the entire solar system. And as the colonies continuously push further and further out from Earth, lawlessness and crime expand right along.
In this 23rd century, human civilization has spread outward to the stars and planets, but our reach has exceeded our grasp. In fact, Civilization is a patchwork of a hundred worlds, most with weak governments and weaker laws. It is a golden age for criminals, who exploit the lawlessness that has befallen humanity and the technology of the far future to prey on others. But their very success has attracted another breed of man and woman - a breed as bent on profit as the criminals themselves... and just as dangerous.

With the vast distances between Earth and its colonies, the abilities of basic policing services are limited. The use of private forces like bounty hunters, known as 'Starhunters', has become common practice.

Each character has a shady past. Each character is running away from (or to) something. Bounty-hunting is still the only source of income. As always the Tulip is falling apart, danger lurks and adventure follows.
Also as always Percy trusts no one and loves Dante.
